In 2004 three Roundtables on Food Security were held in the south, central and north regions of the province. The results of the Roundtables informed the members of the particular challenges of the food system in our province and pointed towards some solutions.

Food Secure Saskatchewan was officially formed in May, 2006.  Many of its incorporating members were originally involved in the Saskatchewan Child Nutrition Network (SCNN), which was dissolved in favour of a greater emphasis on food security and broader provincial representation.
